      TESTIMONIALS

Dr. Chappell and the girls have been such a blessing to our dog Freedom. She has mast cell tumors and I really did not want to put her under the knife to remove them, with a good chance they would come back and most of all she does not do well under anesthesia. Dr Chappell was able to come up with an alternative to surgery and Freedoms mast cells are now under control. We have changed her diet and the herbal treatment is really working out well. Freedom is actually frisky again. Dr. Chappell has shown such genuine care and concern for Freedom and alleviating her pain. I feel so fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and caring veterinarian available. We live in Weston Missouri and it is definitely worth the drive. Thanks for everything Dr. Chappell!

Dear Dr. Chappell,
I would like to Thank You for providing Acupuncture treatments for Ben. Ben, a 10 year old Basset Hound, has had back injuries in the past. Typically we followed the traditional treatment of anti-inflammatory medications, steroids, and limited activities. He would respond well to this treatment with minimal mobility deficits. This summer, Ben injured his back again (chasing his 4 year old Basset brother!) causing him to have severe walking difficulty. His back legs had a "scissor" gait, unable to stand from a sitting position without help, or dragging himself on the floor until he could manage to get up. Ben again went through the medications with very slow improvement on his mobility. This was difficult for us to see him struggle to walk, but not the worst part of his back injury. Ben had been on Dexamethasone for approximately 7 days, he began to have extreme restlessness, panting, and unable to control his bladder. His abdomen became extremely distended. We rushed Ben to to the Vet ER (of course these things always happen in the middle of the night), where Ben had abdominal x-rays to rule out bloat, lab work drawn and a urine culture. Fortunately, Ben had only a urinary tract infection as a complication of being of the Dexamethasone. Needless to say, Ben was now on antibiotics, but his back was not improving. We did not want to have him on more steroids. We began to search the internet for possible alternative treatments, and found Dr. Chappell for acupuncture treatments. We made the appointment with Dr. Chappell, hoping for some improvement for Ben. The first appointment was one hour, first discussing Ben's history and treatment plan for Ben. Ben then had his first treatment. The treatment was very calm and relaxing. Ben rested comfortably for twenty minutes while completing his first acupuncture!  We returned weekly for six treatments, and now are on monthly maintenance. After two treatments, his back was not painful to touch, able to walk without crossing his back legs. When the third treatment was done, Ben was able to get up from a sit without help! Ben now has a normal gait, and is pain free, not on any medications either! Ben's diet has been changed to improve his health, and takes a supplement for muscular skeletal support. We could not be happier with his treatment and outcome. We highly recommend Dr. Chappell holistic treatment plan of care.

Ben wanted us to add----"After I injured my back, medical treatment provided some relief, but I spent the following months stumbling around and hoping for my gait to reutrn. The painless acupuncture treatments at your clinic have made me feel 70 (dogs years younger). Today I am the envy of the other neighborhood dogs, as I now have my gait back"!  Thanks Dr. Chappell----- Ben the Miracle Basset Hound.
Thank you!

For 8 years, Dr Chappell has been not only my veterinarian, but the most caring person I know. I met Dr. Chappell when I was working as a student for her husband at the University of Arkansas. At that time, our Little Bit was 15+. Since then, we have all re-located to Kansas City. I would not have had anyone else care for my beloved baby. Dr. Chappell has provided the best care of any veterinarian I have had for our baby girl. Several times over the last 7 years, Little Bit has been very sick. Each time, with amazing dedication and compassion, Dr. Chappell nursed her back to health. Recently, in Little Bit's 23rd year, the time came to say good bye to our baby girl. Not only did Dr. Chappell do everything she could to improve her health, but she also did everything she could to help ease the pain when we realized that nothing could help.

The staff at the Mariposa veterinary Center is the best staff of any clinic I've been to. There is nothing like a feeling of understanding and compassion when you are going through a difficult time. I felt like they all lost Little Bit when she passed and I cannot say thank you enough for the wonderful thoughts and prayers that have come my way. I will continue to visit the clinic with our newest family member, a shepherd mix named McKenzie and know that no matter what happens, she is in great hands!
